Share your snowmobile ethanol sob story … and the solution

On Saturday I headed to Augusta to check out the Maine Snowmobile Association’s annual Maine Snowmobile Show, and got the chance to talk with several vendors and avid sledders.

Plenty of vendors were on hand to show off the latest and greatest sleds and accessories, and local chambers of commerce showed up to share maps and tell riders why they ought to try out the trails in their areas.

One topic of continuing conversation: Ethanol.

Which got us here at the BDN thinking … and prompted us to ask for your input for a possible future story.

Have you experienced problems with your sled because of gasoline that contains ethanol? Did you end up stranded in the back-of-beyond after your sled quit?

If so, what did you do? And if you (and your local sled shop) blame ethanol for the problems you experienced, what was the solution?

We hope to explore the issue in this winter’s issue of BDN Maine Outdoors, and want to share some reader experiences in that story. You can pass along any thoughts to jholyoke@bangordailynews.com

Look forward to hearing from you.
