Services for warden postponed due to approaching storm

A quick note to those who are planning to attend services for Maine Game Warden Maj. Gregory Sanborn, who died on Tuesday after battling cancer for more than a year: Due to an approaching storm, the visiting hours and celebration of life will not take place on Saturday, as originally planned.

According to a Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife press release, Sanborn’s family wants to make sure that everyone who wishes to attend can do so safely, and expects that law enforcement personnel who would have attended may be tied up on emergency calls.

Calling hours will now be held from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. and from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday.

The celebration of life ceremony will be held on Monday at 11 a.m.

Both will be held at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy in Vassalboro.
