Trappers’ rendezvous scheduled

A quick housekeeping matter to start off your week: Pete Tinker of Searsmont sent along word last week that the state’s trappers (and those curious about trapping) will be interested in.

The Maine Trappers Association will hold its fall rendezvous this weekend (Friday through Sunday) at the Windsor Fairgrounds.

What can you learn at the fall rendezvous? Plenty.

Demonstrations will be held on Friday and Saturday; among the topics: How to make wood stretchers, lure and bait making, conibear 101, turkey calling, otter skinning, and demos on trapping mink, bobcat, muskrat, fisher, beaver, coyote, fox and otter.

Admission is $5 per adult. Kids younger than 12 get in free. Gates open at 8 a.ml. on Friday. After supper on Saturday, a fundraising auction will be held.

For more information, call Peter Gerard at 582-6303 or Butch Tripp at 582-7775.
